Advocacy
Advancing evidence-based healthcare policy
RA Capital believes biomedical innovation saves lives but only when people can access the treatments they need. We advocate for policies that support both innovation and improved patient access through proper insurance, rejecting the misconception that we have to choose between incentives for novel medicines and affording the ones we have. Through research, education, and public engagement, we work to advance scientific progress and sound policy.
Accessible & affordable biomedical innovation
No Patient Left Behind (NPLB)
NPLB promotes a healthcare system where market-based pricing during patent periods fuels biomedical innovation, generics come to market without undue delay, and proper insurance with low out-of-pocket costs ensures every patient can access valued treatments our ecosystem creates. The result: a sustainable model that delivers affordable innovation for all and savings for society over the long run (because medicines go generic but hospitals do not). RA Capital’s team was involved in the founding of NPLB, provides steady financial support, and volunteers its time to their cause.
