Angela Pontius

Vice President, Development Strategy and Operations

Angela Pontius is a Vice President of Development Strategy and Operations at Raven. Angela’s primary responsibility is to partner with newcos and portfolio companies to design and execute efficient, patient-centered clinical development programs. At Raven, Angela co-founded Blackbird, delivering meaningful timeline acceleration, capital efficiency, and risk reduction across development programs. Prior to joining Raven, Angela held senior leadership roles across biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, including most recently serving as Vice President of Clinical Operations and Patient Advocacy at Capstan Therapeutics (acquired by AbbVie in 2025). Earlier in her career, Angela led global clinical programs at Vigil Neuroscience, Ra Pharmaceuticals (acquired by UCB in 2020), Roche, Sarepta Therapeutics, and Tetraphase Pharmaceuticals. Angela brings deep expertise across global Phase I – III clinical trials, development strategy, and operational acceleration, with a particular focus on rare disease, autoimmune, and neurology. Angela holds a BA in Pre-medicine and French from the University of Minnesota.
