David Weinstock , MD

Dr. David Weinstock is a Venture Partner at Raven. Prior to Raven, he was the Vice President of Discovery Oncology for Merck, where he led the global preclinical effort to develop, license and acquire therapeutics across platforms. He then joined Hoffman La-Roche as Senior Vice President and Global Head of Oncology, Pharma Research and Early Development, and is based in Basel, Switzerland. He was previously the Lavine Family Professor at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and a Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School, where he was a medical oncologist and directed a translational research program focused on novel therapeutics for lymphoid malignancies. He developed the Public Repository of Xenografts, which has shared patient-derived xenograft models with >400 laboratories around the world. He was a National Cancer Institute Outstanding Investigator and led the Leukemia Program for the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center. He has mentored several junior scientists who now lead scientific groups in the US, Europe and Asia. He completed combined Medical Oncology/Infectious Disease training at Memorial Sloan-Kettering and holds his MD from George Washington University.
