Ramin Farzaneh-Far, MD

Ramin Farzaneh-Far is a Venture Partner at Raven. Ramin’s primary responsibility is to work closely with RA Capital Management’s Investment Team to evaluate drug discovery platforms and initiate novel therapeutics programs. Prior to Raven, Ramin served as Chief Medical Officer of Capstan Therapeutics (acquired by Abbvie in 2025) and Ra Pharmaceuticals (acquired by UCB in 2020). Ramin is an experienced clinical trialist and previously led global clinical development programs at Akebia Therapeutics and Gilead Sciences. A trained cardiologist, Ramin has held academic faculty positions at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Ramin completed his internal medicine residency at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston and trained in cardiovascular medicine at UCSF. Ramin holds BA and MA degrees in Immunology from the University of Cambridge, a MS in clinical research from University of California San Francisco, and an MD from University College London.
